Restorative Dental Services
Dental Exams and Cleanings
Regular dental cleanings and exams are essential in maintaining good oral health. During a dental exam, our team will carefully assess the conditions of the teeth, gums, and mouth, checking for decay, gum disease or other oral health conditions. Early detection and treatment can help prevent further damage and progression. Dental Cleanings involve removing the plaque and tartar build-up that cannot be adequately removed by at home brushing and flossing.
While dental cleanings and exams are done routinely to ensure that you remain cavity-free and have a healthy mouth and smile, they also help to prevent things like gum disease, bad breath, and other unknown problems. Early detection helps us give you the best care that is more predictable, while avoiding any discomfort and expense.

Digital Dentistry
Technology helps us give you the best dental experience we can offer. In our office we have invested in a wide variety of digital technology in order to help give you the best treatment you deserve. When you come in for your first appointment you will have scans, imaging and photos taken to help us understand your dental needs. These include a CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) x-ray which takes 3D images of your teeth, jaws and other structures of your head and face, digital x-rays, photos, and a 3D digital scan of your teeth and mouth with the iTero Lumina scanner.
All of this technology gives us the tools to objectively and transparently assess your dental needs ensuring your involvement in every step of the process. With these tools, we not only monitor any progression of dental disease or improvement of oral health, but allow you to see what we see by removing the intimidation of dental x-rays and dental jargon.

Same Day CEREC® Crowns
Whitening is a fun and easy way to brighten your smile to create a younger appearance. There are many different methods to whiten depending on your needs.
Many of the most common teeth whitening methods are peroxide based and bubble out the impurities. The speed with which they clean usually varies based on the strength of the solution used. The stronger the solution the faster it works but may create sensitivity. There are even ways to brighten a root canal treated tooth,
We can lighten a tooth that has darkened due to a dying nerve. No numbing is required for this procedure! Results shown are after two 15 minute sessions.

Invisalign®
Invisalign is a teeth-straightening system that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to improve the position of your teeth. Invisalign is designed to be less noticeable than traditional braces and is virtually undetectable and the movements that happen to the teeth are no different than braces.
With Invisalign you can correct crooked, crowded or misaligned teeth in adults, teens and children.
The aligners provide gentle pressure on teeth to move them into the correct position. Call, text or book online for a consultation to see if Invisalign is right for you.

Botox®/Dysport
Neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport are injectable treatments made from botulinum toxin. They work by temporarily relaxing specific muscles, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines or treat various medical conditions. These treatments are minimally invasive, quick, and have been safely used for decades.
Botox can be used in both cosmetic and therapeutic applications. Some cosmetic applications include: treatment of wrinkles and fine lines on the face and around the mouth as well as treatment of a gummy smile. Therapeutic applications include treatment for TMJ pain and disorders, facial pain, bruxism (teeth grinding), and migraine management.
Botox is administered via a series of small, minimally invasive injections into the head, face and neck for treatment related to your dental needs.

Tooth-Coloured fillings
Tooth-coloured fillings are a minimally-invasive option for treatment of tooth decay, repair to chipped or broken teeth, closure of spacing between teeth or improving the aesthetic look of your teeth. These fillings are bonded to the tooth to replace or repair damaged areas of your teeth to maintain function.
There are several options for tooth-coloured fillings including plastic, resin, porcelain or zirconia.

Oral Sedation Dentistry
At Aesthetic Dental, we understand that visiting the dentist can be a stressful experience for many. We are happy to offer oral sedation dentistry to help you relax during your dental treatment. Oral sedation is a safe and effective way to ensure that your dental visits are comfortable and stress-free. Oral sedation involves the administration of the sedative medication in the form of a pill. You will take the medication before your appointment to help you feel calm and relaxed during your time at the dentist. We also offer warm blankets and calm, relaxing music to help decrease all the surrounding stresses. If you are interested in learning more about oral sedation dentistry and would like to book a consultation, please call our office to find out if it is right for you.
Laser Cold Sore Therapy
Laser therapy is an effective way to treat cold sore that cause pain, make you feel self-conscious or just take too long to heal. If we catch the lesion early enough with laser treatment, we can prevent the cold sore from breaking out. As soon as you feel the tingling sensation that warns you of an on-coming sore, call us to schedule an appointment. If you already have an active sore, the laser will take away the discomfort and help to dry up and heal the sore much faster. Treatment can give immediate and profound relief, help prevent sores if treated when tingling first occurs, stops the progression of a sore after treatment, and offers faster healing without any further discomfort. Laser treatment takes only a few minutes. It is discrete and is done without any anesthesia. After treatment, sores reoccur with less frequency and intensity at the same location.Extractions
Dental extractions are procedures in which a tooth or multiple teeth are removed from the mouth. This treatment may be necessary for various reasons, such as severe tooth decay, gum disease, overcrowding, or impacted wisdom teeth.
Removing a damaged or infected tooth can help prevent further complications, such as the spread of infection to adjacent teeth or even into the jawbone.
Dental extractions are usually the last resort in dentistry when dealing with decayed or infected teeth. We will work with you to have a plan to replace a tooth before it is extracted so that your overall function of your teeth and mouth are not compromised.
Root Canals
A root canal is a dental procedure designed to treat and save a tooth that has suffered from severe decay, infection or trauma. During the procedure the infected or damaged pulp (nerve tissue) from the inside of a tooth is carefully removed. The tooth is then thoroughly cleaned, shaped and disinfected before it is filled and sealed with a biocompatible material. This prevents further infection or pain.
Signs and symptoms of a tooth that might require root canal treatment are persistent temperature sensitivity, persistent tooth pain, swelling or tenderness around the affected tooth. If left untreated, infection (abscess) can spread leading to a more severe infection and/or tooth loss.
Deep tooth decay, trauma, chips or cracks, multiple dental restoration, or a history of dental issues with a tooth can all contribute to a tooth needing root canal treatment.
Veneers
Dental veneers are thin, custom-made coverings for the front teeth that improve their appearance and protect them from damage.
Compared to dental crowns, veneers require minimal tooth structure removal while providing the same naturally looking and aesthetically pleasing result. Veneers can be made out of porcelain or resin and improve the look of your smile by improving the alignment, shape and colour of your front teeth.

Implants
Dental Implants are a permanent fixed prosthetic that is placed in the jawbone to replace a missing or extracted tooth/teeth. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root which is surgically placed into the jaw and act as the foundation for a single tooth, a dental bridge, or various type of dentures.
Dental implants consist of 3 parts, the implant itself which lays in the jaw bone, the abutment (post) which connects the implant to the visible tooth (crown), and the implant crown. Once an implant is placed, the surrounding bone must heal before the crown and abutment can be placed; this usually takes around 4-6 months’ time depending on each individual person.
Implants offer a permanent fixed solution to regain function and can be part of your overall dental treatment plan to replace missing or extracted teeth.
Tooth Whitening
The most common cosmetic procedure in dentistry is tooth whitening. Tooth whitening can help brighten your smile, give you a more youthful appearance and improve your self-confidence. Tooth whitening can be completed in a number of ways including custom professionally fabricated whitening trays and professional whitening solutions. It is a non-invasive procedure that enhances your smile by removing stains and discolourations from your teeth.
Whether you are looking for a brighter smile for a special event or to exaggerate the results of other dental treatments like crowns, bridges or Invisalign, give us a call or book online for a consultation to get your whitening started.
Nightguard and Sleeping appliances
A nightguard is a custom-made dental appliance used for people who clench and grind their teeth while sleeping. They are worn to protect the teeth for wear and damage caused by parafunctional habits. Nightguards are made from a strong and durable material that fits securely over the teeth to provide a barrier between the upper and lower teeth. Besides tooth wear, these appliances can help protect against enamel erosion, tooth fracture and even tooth loss. They can also provide relief for symptoms of TMJ disorders such as jaw pain, headaches, and facial muscle pain.
Sleeping appliances help alleviate the symptoms of sleep apnea including snoring. They can be an alternative to CPAP machines and offer a more comfortable and discrete form of treatment. These appliances work by positioning your tongue and jaw forward to avoid obstruction of your throat during sleep. Sleep appliances are custom made to your specific needs and are designed and prescribed after a sleep test is completed.
Children’s Dentistry
It is recommended that a child’s first dental visit start at the age of 1 year or when the first teeth become visible. This not only helps to provide your child with a “dental home” but will also help new parents gather all the information they need to provide and encourage great oral health habits. Early detection and management of oral conditions can improve a child’s oral health, general health and well-being, and school readiness. Delayed diagnosis of dental disease can result in exacerbated problems which lead to more extensive and costly care. Early diagnosis of developing malocclusions may allow for timely therapeutic intervention.
Children should come to the dentist twice a year. This routine assessment helps to reinforce the good oral hygiene and habits. Some children need to be seen more regularly because of increased risk of tooth decay, unusual growth patterns or poor oral hygiene.
Dentures
Dentures are a replacement for missing teeth. Dentures can be removed and placed back in your mouth at any time. There are two types of conventional dentures – complete and partial. Complete dentures are placed when all remaining teeth in the top or bottom of your mouth have been removed. Partial dentures replace just the missing teeth and use your natural teeth as support to give you proper function and aesthetics.
Implant supported dentures differ from traditional dentures in that they attach directly to your jawbone using dental implants. They offer a more stable and natural feel compared to traditional dentures without the need for denture adhesive.
